Spouses Club

This is a picture of my great pal Hillary and I before the Breakfast. 
Today we had the Spouses Clubs' semesterly Welcome Breakfast.  It turned out great!  It was fun to meet the newbies and it is always great to get together with the entire group.  I can't believe this was already my 4th Welcome Breakfast.... I'm getting to be one of the old gals! Only one more to go!!  Time sure flies!  Anyway, we had a great time.  It is going to be a great semester! (At least for those of us who don't have to study :)  Oh, and a thanks to Ben for playing with Holdyn for a couple of hours when he should have been studying for Monday's exam!  Thanks babe! 

"My Daddy and ME!"

Here she is again!  Holdyn sure loves here Daddy!  She kept climbing up and playing with his sunglasses so we had to get her a pair of her own.  
Yesterday, she was begging to get out, so we took her over to the AUC playground and she went wild.  She is in the transition from the toddler playground AKA Fisher Prices version, and the real thing.  So Daddy found the kid in him and followed her up on the top of the playset, and eventually down the slide.  

Here she is showing her pigtils and waiting for her snack.  She is getting good at letting us know what she wants. She signs and says,  "More", "Please", "Food", "Ball", and I'm sure there are a few others but that is all I can think of for now.
Oh, she's also mastered saying "I wuv You" thanks to this little doll she got for Christmas from her cousin, Annie.  She says it... except when we have Grandma's on the phone, she doesn't quite perform over the phone yet.  We're still working on that.
She has also successfully been taken off the bottle.  We didn't really do it as early as we wanted, but without much fight, she is now officially a sippy cup gal!   

GO LSU TIGERS!!!

This is a shout out to the LSU Tiger football team for taking the National Championship!!  What a great game!!!  We've got a lot of friends from Louisiana who stayed to watch the game.  We can't wait to see you back on the ROCK!   Congrats LSU!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and we're back to the grindstone!!

We had a Great Christmas Morning!! Holdyn slept in and

we had fresh Cinnamon Rolls for Breakfast.

Holdyn wasn't exactly sure what to do with her presents..... She was more interested in moving on to Breakfast than opening presents. She did soon get the hang of it with help from daddy.Holdyn finally got some arm floaties so we had to go to the beach to try them out, she really isn't sure that she likes them yet. She did, however, have loads of fun playing in the sand with daddy and her new sand shovel and bucket. She also enjoyed stuffing it in her mouth as you can see in the picture below!

We also celebrated our "One year on the island" day. Here is a shot of us the day after we arrived last December 29. It is hard to believe we've already been here for a year.We had a FABULUOUS time the last few weeks. We love Ben/Daddy and we loved being to spend everyday with him! We were able to pick up a few of the New couples and students who are just starting at AUC. It is hard to believe we are now the ones answering the questions about life on the island. Ben has officially begun his 4th semester of Medical School. Only one more to go before we are back on US soil!!

I hope this next year is as great as the past one. We have A LOT to be thankful for and A LOT to look forward to! Especially our new addition to the family in June.
