Few days of fun!

After the first days of unpacking, unpacking, and more unpacking, we decided we needed a quick break.  The girls were very excited to go feed the ducks at a Tingley Beach.  We had the perfect old loaf of bread to break up and feed away.  It was a great outing with Grandma and Grumpa Baker!

We then found a park nearby to go and have a picnic.  We ended up eating on the lower half of the park and noticed some stairs going up the side of the ridge.  I stayed with the baby while everyone else climbed the stairs up and up and up until they reached the other half of the park on top of the ridgeline.  They gook some great pictures overlooking the city!

Here is baby Cody enjoying some Grumpa time at the new digs.
While Ben and I continued to unpack and run errands, Grumpa and Grandma took the girls and met up with some family friends, Tami and Will Neagle and family,  for a day outing.  Tami was in the Indian Placement program when we were young and my parents sort of 'adopted' her into our family.  She only lived with us for two years when she was in middle school, but has remained a lifelong member of the Baker Clan.  She now lives in Albuquerque with her family and they helped us do some unpacking and have given us lots of helpful hints about the city.

Kimber can't resist catching a lady bug if she see's it!

 Overlooking the city.

The trail to the cave....I can't remember the name of it.

Here is my dad with Tami.  Ben and I will have to make a trip up there sometime!  The girls had a BLAST and it has been fun having someone here to ask questions.  Thanks Tami and family for all of your help!

Moving Day!

Well I can't believe I didn't get more pictures on moving day than these, but here goes...
We left Fredonia, AZ about 6am on Tuesday May 29, 2012.  Mom and Dad Baker were able and willing to help us get everything down to our new home.  Ben drove our truck and a small trailer, followed by Grumpa Baker in his truck with the big loaded trailer, and Grandma Baker and I brought up the rear in the infamous Buick La Sabre with the kiddo's.
We only had one small delay.... which was a good break for the kids ;)  While following my dad and the big trailer, we suddenly witnessed small pieces of rubber spill across the highway in front of us. This was followed by a strong smell of burning rubber. Being the bright bulbs that we are, we still weren't sure it was dad's tire.  But, we did give Ben a holler on the good ol' walkie talkies and a few minutes later we pulled off in the middle of the Navajo Reservation. There we confirmed the fact that we had indeed, not only blown, but shredded a tire on the trailer.
 (Ben LOVES this picture above)
Here is what is left of the tire.
Holdyn had the time to build a sweet little sand castle and play in the sand while they fixed the tire.

Kimber killed time by balancing on the hitch and showing off for anyone who would watch.

We made it safely, just 10.5 hours after leaving.  We were met by 6 men in our new ward who helped us get speedily unloaded into our new place in Albuquerque.

A few things before the move!

We had a few fun events before we moved to Albuquerque, NM.  One of which was, I got to go and stay with the Brad/Katrine Baker kids for a few days while Brad and Katrine took Katelyn to the airport in Las Vegas to go to Germany.  This is always one of my favorite past times :-)  I absolutely love to hang out with my nieces and nephews!  IT is an extra bonus that they live by my sister and her kids.  So one afternoon we piled all the kids in the ginormous van and took them to get a 'snowie' It is a lot of work keeping up that 'Favorite Aunt' status!  Especially now that I have my own kids ;-)

Little Miss Kimber had to go to Phoenix for one last CF appt. We always stayed at Glen and Laurel's house (one of Kimber's favorite places because they always spoil her)  Ben took her down this time and they found a fun park to feed the ducks before her appt.  Of course, Kimber LOVED it!  We are excited to get her to the new clinic here in Albuquerque, NM.  The one in Phoenix wasn't our favorite ;-)

We also had to bombard Rebecca and Clint in Page, AZ for one last hoorah!
Josh and Tiff and their girls also came and we enjoyed lots of good food, great company, loooong games of Rook, and of course, the Pincho's.
Below are the guys getting them ready, I think it makes them turn out better if you keep your tongue out....just ask Clint.
As always, they spoiled us while we were there.  Thanks McCormick's!  We love you and already miss you all!

Holdyn finishes up T-Ball

Here is #9 herself!  She is such a great sport and loves to play t-ball!   I didn't get my camera out as often as I should have, but she had a fun season and improved a LOT!!

Brandon Tait was her coach again this year and he really has a lot of patience with the little ones.  Thanks to all those parents who helped and organized this event!  Our whole family had a lot of fun!

Grandma Baker turns 60!!!

Happy Big 60th Birthday to the Greatest Mom EVER!!  We had a super fun birthday party for my mom!  The entire family was there...except for Katelyn, who is partying in Germany for a few more weeks!  We had a few of the cousins sleeping over at Grandma's house and here they are enjoying an icecream snack!  Megan, Kimber, Sophee, Holdyn and Courtney.
